About

Another LQQK is for slowing down, considering what is at hand, taking time to wonder or to reflect or to question.  It is pausing to see more clearly, more deeply, more broadly.

After spending 12 years as a computer programmer/systems analyst, I headed off to seminary.  In 2002 I was ordained a pastor and teacher in the United Church of Christ and have served as an associate pastor, a solo pastor, and an interim pastor.

Quilting and reading are my primary hobbies.  I enjoy spending time with my best beloved (since 1994!) playing Scrabble, going to baseball games and attending symphonic concerts.

The first paragraph of your About Me page resonates with me. Life moves too fast like a whirlwind and often, we get caught in the vortex of it, failing to enjoy blissful moments—moments that matter. I had been endeavoring to slow down. Every day, I remind myself not to rush through life.

Hi Teressa! Thanks for your steady support of the godblog! John enjoyed having you in the class, too. I’m not sure why, but when you “like” a godblog post, it notifies me five times on email…sometimes more. Any clues? I mean, it’s nice to be “liked” but I think it might be a bug in the system(s)… Have an excellent summer! Rita

No idea, Rita, why you get notified five times. I liked today’s a lot. Class was great! I recommend it to anyone and everyone who asks about what I’ve been doing May your summer be excellent as well! – Teressa

My longtime quilter friend, Mary Puckett, put me onto your website. I am pastor at Columbus Community Congregational Church UCC in Columbus, MT. I was an LCSW for 35 years, the last 12 of those years in private practice. But I had been inching toward ministry for some years even before closing the practice. I served as sabbatical pastor and interim transitional pastor in my home church in Chattanooga while I was still in training. I was ordained in 2018 as associate pastor in my home church and now am in my first settled pastorate as a solo pastor. My blog is found at kateshopecafe.net. Blessings, Kate
