A little bit of autumn (2011 and 2021), some Halloween (2015), flowers from three seasons (2016, 2021, 2011), a monarch butterfly (2021) and a view of my cul-de-sac (2021). All for Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge – October Color Oranges and/or Light Green.

I really like the cones with shadows photo. Your flowers and pumpkins are of course ever so beautiful 😀

We had orange cones just past the end of my driveway for about a week as the old cement was taken out and new concrete poured put in. It was very cloudy the first time I tried to take pictures and I wasn’t happy with the results. This photo is from my second attempt – I was pulling out of my driveway to run errands when I realized there was sun and shadow and no other vehicles on the street so I pulled back in to get the camera and take pictures.

My instant response to the laid out version (rather than the viewing individually … not very technically described, huh?) is that the cones on the bottom say please slow down and pay attention to all these things … they are the repair and new construction of your life.

What an astute observation!! Yes, slow down. No matter the season of life. Look around. Breathe deeply. Remember. Give thanks. Embrace new possibilities.
I particularly like the “new construction” aspect. It has been a year since John’s death; while I miss him every single day, the fog of grief has mostly lifted and I am embracing life-giving ways both old and new to be in this world.
